Out of the box

by Iola   May 4, 2008

On the one side of my face shines a light
Darkness covers the rest
The left not a true reflection of my right
Not showing you my best

My right hand clenched into a fist
The left side simply calm
A diamond bracelet around my wrist
On my lips a very cheap balm

Steering left into a direction
But rightfully turning west
Dancing slowly into perceived perfection
Not living like the rest

Stirring water in a bottomless pit
My right finger getting wetter
Smelling dirt wherever I sit
Please God make me better

Regretfully right in the wrongful place
Left to break into pieces of steel
Turning around in my own empty space
Licking the edge of a broken deal

Happily fighting with a knife from behind
Left and right stay a paradox
Cruelty can become very kind
I prefer to think out of the box
