The Clock's Stuck at Midnight ((more crying to sleep))

by StandStill   May 4, 2008

It's funny how this waltz
brings dancers only pain
tears of longing go unnoticed
due to the cursed rain

Did i forget to mention?
dancer was once more scorned
she put her beautiful heart into his hands
and once again, it was torn

Can you hear the tick-tock?
time bomb's fuse is burning low
and she's falling into oceans
curiousity pushers her, further on she goes

If curiosity did kill the cat,
she would be ever so pleased
for curiosity already broke her heart
death seems to be a way for ease

Nighttime spirits taunt her
not good enough for anyone
oh, God's poorest creatures
are simply the loveliest under the sun

She has but one secret-
one little thing to call her own
just simple reminders
that tell her of when she fell down

Every sickening heartbeat
brings her closer to her fate
the clock's stuck at midnight, buried under tears
and midnight's far too late

Into sleeplessness's ocean
she falls ever deep
closes her eyes to wash away the pain
but never does she actually sleep
