Grey, Angels die

by StandStill   May 4, 2008

In a corner of the world,
a wonderfully foresaken place,
silently a tired spirit cries,
an angel fallen from grace

Poor, tired angel,
she looks up and sees the stars
but when she looks down,
all she sees are bitter scars

She hides in a greyness, lovely embrace
a tired, huddled mass of fear,
crying everytime she sees
Heaven's miraculously perfect tears

Everytime the world crashes,
she feels her heart begin to break
realizations trickle through the hourglass,
she knows she doesn't have what it takes

Poor beautiful heart,
murdered by those in awe
Angel's memroies eroding away
slowly, she's losing everything she saw

Grey ink's bleeding onto a page
as an angel wastes away
starburst sunsets hang on the horizon
poor angel cries, submerged into lifeless grey
