My Canterbury Tale - Prolouge

by Sean Allen   May 27, 2004

A YOUNG STUDENT joined our party,
And traveled with us on our way.
He always strove to be unique,
He was different from day to day.
His name was John Singer,
And it's dreadful, but I fear,
That although his hair is red right then,
It was purple yesteryear.
He hasn't done drugs, or so he told us.
But his eyes were on the vacant side.
Whether or not he did drugs
Is not something for me to decide.
Which is not to say he was ugly,
Indeed some say he was fair.
But it was hard to see him in that light,
With his ever-present vacuous stare.
This young lad was very impulsive,
He never learned to 'look before you leap. '
It got him in a lot of trouble,
For he didn't always land on his feet
