You're Never Gonna Read This (So I'll Be Upfront Here)

by Curing the Comon Cliche   May 6, 2008

I wish I could stop liking you
How different things would be
I wish I fell for someone
Who COULD fall for me

You're never gonna read this
So I'll be upfront here
I'm not hot or interesting
Let's get a few things clear

I'm sorry I'm not good enough
Not good enough for YOU
I'm sorry you can't feel the same
I'm sorry all it's true

What's true is that I fell
What's true is you did not
What's true is I'm not enough
Not cute, amazing, hot...

What's true is those things matter
More than you'd like to say
What's true is the this smile
Is a lie, I'm not ok

I'm not ok
You can't FALL
All these sparks, yet you feel none
While I feel them all

I wish I could stop liking you
How different things would be
And just in case you're wondering
Can't save a wretch like me

Truth is beautiful, without doubt; but so are lies.

If i had anything left to cry with, jesse, i would be sobbing at this point. if only if only..

What's true is that I fell
What's true is you did not
What's true is I'm not enough
    Not sexy, amazing, hot...

^^ oh. god. this made me think of another Jessi in this world...how she gets to be amazing..how i don't.

you're amazing Jesse, whether she sees that or not. amazingness is often times selective...it's in the eye of the beholder, unfortunately. and it hurts, but it's the truth. what a lovely, painful truth, eh?

((that's the longest comment i've left in four days...lol))

Love the blunt and real truth of it all. "Like me back, damnit!" I also like the fact that the consistency in syllables and rhyme made the poem flow without awkward glitches and re-reading. Thanks for a poem worth reading :D
