My Love's Scene

by Joseph R Hanna   May 6, 2008

Though it is not love
Your fire burns
You must be my dove
My Stormie churns

Churns when I'm near
Mind tells me to talk
legs run in fear
the others they walk

Walk to embarrass me
to embarrass you
then you walk away
I feel like an ideate
trying to talk to you.

I love how blissfully simple this poem is. It makes a point, but without the rigmarole of needless fluff. I also like that each stanza begins with the end of the other stanza. It sort of ties them all together in a way that forces me to remember what I just read (which, even for brilliant poetry can sometimes be hard to do). Bravo :D
