Skulls and Stripes (520)

by NinjaGirl   May 6, 2008

The flag is blown softly by the wind
Upon this cold, shadowy night
The moon outlines a dark figure
Beneath the skulls and stripes.

Is it someone I know?
Yes, maybe, I don't know
Or somebody from a dream?
That would be as it seems.

Captain Kitty walks beneath the flag
To reach her ship before dawn
But then something catches her eye
Is it the light rays of the morn?

Upon the horizon, in the distance
But in plain view to see
Sails a mighty ship
As precious as could be.

At the helm she sees him standing,
Her one true love
For him she would fall to her knees
For him she would shed blood.

As he comes to port
With a cutlass in his hand
To show her what he's caught
Now that he's on land.

And lo behold! he lifts a mirror to her
So that she can see what he has caught
So she sees her own reflection
Of what he found when coming to port.

Captain Kitty has finally been found
Not on sea but shore
And, now she will pay,
For becoming a pirate outlaw.

Captain Storm has raised his sword
And it comes tearing through the night
This night, blood has been spilt
Beneath the skulls and stripes.
