On My Wall

by Spoken Silence   May 6, 2008

Old pictures that hang on my wall,
Gather dust amongst the frames.
Old memories from a past life,
Smiling faces turn faded.

Running around in my underwear,
I always wondered why my parents ever cared,
While taking pictures of me as a kid.
I didn't even know what I did.
Family pictures where we all looked to the right,
Looking at something that seemed to be out of sight.

Now that I look at these pictures on my wall,
I can't see much memories of them now.
The frames have fallen, broken glass was spread.
Thousands of shards around the room,
Each one different from the next.
Broken glass, broken memories.
It's just another day, a different picture.
Frozen moments captured in time.
Forever to stay the way it was.
Stuck unable to move from that one position.
For those to admire on my wall.

I have pictures on my wall of times that I can't remember.

I have pictures on my wall of a past so distant.

I have pictures on my wall as we all smile.

I have pictures on my wall and I don't know why.
