Tale Of Beasts

by Lilly Tagloff   May 6, 2008

The feeling is so strong.
It takes over your whole body.
Every emotion,
Every thought,
Every power of the mind.

Lay down, its okay.
It will go away soon.
But it punches you in the gut
the minute you begin to rest.
Oops, just a little fib.

Close your eyes, all is calm.
It will stop, of course.
Than is stabs you in the side
once you finally stop thinking.
Oh well, still a small stretch of truth won't hurt.

Go to sleep, no worries.
It will surely disappear.
Next it shoots you in the head
when you actually start to believe the words.
Uh oh, this little tale is growing.

Drift away, child.
Get away from the horror.
It can't hurt you anymore now.
Not that it ever really could.
It was all just a lie, anyways.

A very good poem. Can be interpreted by the reader in many ways. I like this one.
