My money, my way

by Ashton   May 6, 2008

I bought a Coke today
for a dollar and 25 cents. I drank
it all the way down like there
was no tomorrow. Out of five dollars that
leaves me $3.75. Maybe I'll
go and grab a candy bar, or
even an ice cream cone.
But no matter what I do or say,
food is always there.

I bought a box of Twinkies today
for one dollar and ten cents. It was a pack
of six, so I shared with you, mom
and dad, the neighbor kid, and the last
two were for me. That leaves me
only $2.65. Maybe I'll go grab a
lemonade, from a little girl's stand.
But either way,
food is always there.

I bought a pack of M&M's today
for two dollars and sixty-five cents. I asked
the guy at the stand "How much are these?"
And he replied saying "Whatever you got." So's
I handed him my money and he said
"Thank you." I told momma what happened,
and she said "you got ripped off."
No matter how I think about it, as I lay,
food is always there.
