This start reminds me of a nursery rhyme. It sounds like a start of one.

"In 1952, a legend was born
A legend whose poems are well worn
From "Facts of Life" and even to "Mission Tire Factory""

Good choice of words, it just flows from one word to the next.

"From Poetry Collections one through Six,
He is one poet you do not want to miss
Especially if you enjoy "Four Latino Poets" of 1976"

Good rhyme scheme.

"Many of his poems set the mood;
Maybe Fernie the dude
Or even the art of food."

I like how all of the final words rhyme.

"Gary Soto's poems are many to treasure
As they are also sure to pleasure.
As to if you will enjoy him, I am sure. "
