All I see is nothing
I glance across the ocean
To stare at nothing
I am empty
When I talk
And when I breathe
I feel nothing
All signs of life
Are gone from this place
My heart is empty
Like the vast oceans
The world is big
Bigger than us all
And you never can tell
Tomorrow we could be gone
Our souls carried from this world
By the graceful birds
Or dancing ponies
Through fields of grass
Or skies of blue
With endless options
No one can ever tell
From one day to the next
Life is unpredictable
Love is around the next corner
Always the next
But the next never comes
We sing and laugh
We put on a brave face
When all we have is gone
When nothing more is left
Moving all around us
The world it never stops
Spinning slowly
As thoughts race in my mind
Thoughts of happy endings
A happy ending for my poem
and maybe one for me
