From Heart and Head (Villanelle)

by Noir Fleur   May 7, 2008

Ignore the hate from heart and head,
the anger that seethes from the sky,
and the tearful eyes that see red.

Feelings of anguish are sent to bed
in a release of a merciful sigh;
ignore the hate from heart and head.

Words of obvious should go unsaid;
it is not the strong who can't cry
with the tearful eyes that see red.

A nurtured love left unfed
and laid out to wither and die;
ignore the hate from heart and head.

Not love, but torrid despair is bred
from the lost souls who try
the tearful eyes that see red.

The truth is lost, but not dead
as false comforts keep flying by.
Ignore the hate from heart and head
and the tearful eyes that see red.
