Painted Red

by Crippled Wing   May 7, 2008

She painted her arms red,
because she thought she was dead.
As the red tears dripped from her arms,
she knew for that moment,
that she still was alive...
As days go on
she hides behind a cloth
hoping nobody would see,
the bloody scene underneath.
She sits alone,
because that's where
she feels most at home.
No one needs her,
she wishes they would just beat her!
But instead her punishment
has to come from herself.

She can't feel it any more,
she has drifted away.
The only thing she feels now
is the pain flowing down her arm,
like a red river of tears,
to wipe away all her fears.
It will be enough to get her through the day,
but by tomorrow she will wish
it would all go away!
But by night fall....
the red paint is the only way.
