Cross My Heart, Hope To Die

by forever fallen smiles   May 7, 2008

I cross my heart and hope to die,
forgetting all these things.
Sewing shut these open seams.
Closing up these opened wounds,
needle and thread slowly pressing on.
Sew my heart in place,
I took it out it could have been yours.
The way you manipulate and play your games
strokes my anger, you know how much I care...
I guess you don’t....
you were only an empty hope
you were only tears from my eyes
that were not worth crying.
No matter how much you made me cry,
no matter how angry you made me
I kept running back to you.
I know you will just hurt me again
and not know you did...
I let you get to me, I let you in
and all you did was hurt me....

Long Ago,
Ebony Dawn
