The road not taken

Broken hearts and shattered dreams
remeniscing on how things used to be
a perfect life was mistaken
all because of the road not taken

fake smiles and plenty of tears
in a darkened world filled with fear
things were done that seemed so worth it
regretting never walking the road not taken

dried up souls deep within
crying out once again
denying all things that were sacred
ignoring the road that was not taken

an innocent life, done, when the world had ended
a life so broken yet never mended
a poor spirit so scared and shaken
all because of the road not taken.

    Wow this was a very heart felt poem. it really grabbed my attention from the start. the title pulled everything into perspective. very creative job.

    ^^^This stanza was just too kool. True it was very sad, but it kind of made me sit and think for a minute. Great Job!
