Locket In Your Leather Pocket

by brie kelly wise   May 8, 2008

One way bus ticket crumbled in the waste basket
Might as well throw those dreams in a wooden casket
Let it die beneath the dirt that killed the ground
It would be saved if it knew how to make a sound

You can cry all you want but there's no one listening
Pain travels through your veins and out comes the electricity
And I don't see how you find this amusing
I'm the only one seeing the part that's a little confusing

Do you remember that heart-shaped locket
That, for years, sat in your momma's pocket
It was passed down for a reason that you'll never see
Even though she's gone, she's watching you fulfill your dreams

So think about how much she actually cares
Pack your bags and move yourself up to Bel Aire
I know that years from now, you'll remember that heart-shaped locked
And this time, it'll be taking care of you in your leather pocket
