Simply Unexpected

This was not expected,
Nor was this planned,
But the minute I set eyes on you,
You caught my attention unlike any ordinary man.

The look in your eyes,
and that smile on your face,
Just brought me straight to you,
As I walked over at a steady pace.

You impressed me at that moment,
Simply by shaking my hand,
and politely introducing youself,
Like a kind gentleman.

As you began talking,
I listened to everything you had to say.
As I continued listening,
you slowly took my breath away.

I was very impressed,
with the knowledge that was held inside,
I would have never expected such a thing,
From such a young guy.

As the night went on,
We began talking more,
We never ran out of anything to say,
In fact, we could have said so much more.

For the little time that I knew you,
I was quite impressed,
But who knows when I will see you again,
