When i was a kid my mother would say
'Don't point to the moon bad luck will come your way'
I'd look up at the moon and wonder why
Such a beautiful light could make me sigh
Sat on my bed looking into the night
Stars twinkling bright, a wonderful sight
I think to myself what harm could it make
Surly one point wouldn't be a mistake
Oh beautiful moon with your silver shine
Surly you wouldn't hurt this life of mine
So I've decided the best thing to do
Is to point my big finger straight at you
If i do it quick the moon might not see
That i was pointing my finger at thee
So I'll do it quick and then we shall wait
The trouble is I'm getting into a state
I think it's best that i leave well alone
Don't want to wake up with a wine and a groan
So beautiful moon, shine your bright light
And guide me safely thoughout the night
