Memories

Going thorough old photographs, all the memories they hold.
Going through old letters, all the stories that they tell.
Going through old cards, all the messages they send.
Telling old stories between old friends, all the good times and the bad.
Used to go to bed at night with you by my side, but now all I have left is the memories inside.
Used to wake up to you saying goodbye, too a coffee in your hand and a I love you my wife.
I used to fall asleep with our future on my mind, but then you took this all away.
Five years lost in a whole five seconds...was it really worth it.

I've asked myself over and over again, what changed these things...but I'd rather stop those thoughts and just have my happy memories
