Spellbound

by NightFlyer   May 8, 2008

Gently sings the night,
A palm tree sways its slow serenade to the wind,
Gently calling me back,
On dark lanes kissed with shadow,
I walk neath a Floridian sky,
Liquid gardenia breeze, takes me to hidden realms,
In sylvan paths of wonder,
Where I merge with all, in rivers of rapture,
Night jasmine breeze, spurs me on to hillsides of bliss,
Where all my yesterdays melt in cosmic centuries,
And all fly to merge with smiling seasons,
Up past the harvest moon,
Past pink thunderheads, shining in the night's radiance,
Past the castle turrets of Luna's kingdom,
Past the silver river of time, glowing with midnight's smile,
To stand in starlit meadows, spellbound,
Before the eyes of eternity.

Thank you very much for your kind comment, Patricia! I took a walk by twilight some weeks ago, and it inspired me to write this poem. There is much beauty and mystery that can be experienced in the twilight hours.
