Struggle to Survive

by Erica   May 8, 2008

I have walked down a bundle of broken paths
Life's obstacles are hard, never-ending conquers
For them I used to hold a long bitter wrath
People deal with their problems differently
Crying from dusk till dawn
I never took failure quite gently

Resorting to angst and self pity
I soon became my own worst enemy
One walk around the city, one loud bawl
Wishing I was just like a computer
For self-esteem, please click install

To live life you need to smell the roses and be alive
Dark rooms and sharp objects aren't ways to cope
For this I realized, I had to stop crawling and thrive
People encounter self defeat and pain
That's the baggage that comes along the ride
It's just ones struggle to survive
