CHANGES , LIKE THE SEASONS

by Jim McMillen the man within   May 9, 2008

APRIL 2ND 1990

There is a changing, like the seasons,
Summer to fall , winter to spring.
They are all for different reasons,
Some for you to prepare, others to make you sing

Sent from heaven above,
From our father, who created the earth.
Falling leaves, like a dying love,
A flowers blossom, A sign of rebirth.

Sunshine falling from the sky,
Cool winds blowing so pleasant.
We are always in Gods eye,
For he is ever present.

Even in the winters wrath,
When cold winds blow so strong.
Spring is nearing down our path,
Gods promise is never long.

Soon the trees grow bountiful leaves,
And flowers begin to bloom.
Our longing hearts , springtime retrieves,
As we forget our winters gloom.

Now summer is here , to enjoy for all,
The harvest of Gods love.
As the warm winds hear the call,
Of our heavenly father above.

Winter behind, brighter days ahead,
Onward I travel , in my chosen direction.
The winter of my blind eyes, now dead,
For God has filled me with love and affection.

I have felt the pain of love, and the pleasure,
Many changes I have seen.
I once had your love, my most precious treasure,
A loss I could not convene.

But you have always been the rose of my eye,
Even though many times , I have been your thorn.
Now the winter of my life, behind me does lye.
It is spring, and God has made me reborn.

Life can be as beautiful, as A garden of flowers,
Once you destroy all the weeds.
When God is your gardener, through out all the hours,
Have faith, he will take care of your needs.

He will care for your garden, and fill you with pleasure,
With the seeds that he has sown.
And soon life's most precious gifts beyond measure,
You will proudly own!

Thank you so much Jim, for sending me this poem. It's a great write, one verse jumped out at me I kept reading it over:

    'Winter behind, brighter days ahead,
Onward I travel in my chosen direction,
The winter of my blind eyes now dead,
For God has filled me with love and
    affection.

I just love that verse and relate to it so much.
    Thank you again

"Life can be as beautiful, as A garden of flowers,
Once you destroy all the weeds."

    True that.
Reminds me of that saying i once heard.
"To get the rainbow you have to put up with the rain."
its like saying, to get to the good part in life, you deal with the bad part.
Destroying the weeds is like dealing with the bad part, and then all of a sudden theres a beautiful flower garden in front of you (good part)
    This was amazingly written.
    You have talent.
