To Confront

by EclipsesChick   May 9, 2008

Whispered thoughts short and sweet
mixed within a tortured dream, swipe
the smile right off his face and create
a sneer to replace.

Furrowed brow and nostrils flared
permeate silence in the air, drowned
by accusations and avoided
confrontations.

Words are spoken carefully, body
tensing in attempt to flee. But glaring
eyes keep their stare and body is
forced to stay right there.

Mouth is open in a gape, but accuses
dare not escape. Eyes keep searching
for the door, making contact no
more.

Lies buy time but only some, and
body knows who has already won.
Put in shame upon display, body
knows its lost the game.

Body falls limp as time flies by,
eyes still picking out the lies.
Fight is over, bodies embrace, but
over shoulder smile drops and heart
breaks.
