    Gennie,

You used such a beautiful metaphore....people with mental issues are indeed very fragile.
You already know my feelings on the subject and about my past. My love goes out to you and all the other young people who try so desperately to get their feet on solid ground again.

    Love, Ingrid

Very powerful and heartfelt Gen. The poem itself has a nice flow and rhyme scheme...but such a powerful message about mental illness. You have used a beautiful metaphor of the butterfly to capture that fragility and delicate balance that those who suffer from depression must deal with daily. Nicely done...take care, Debbie

    Gen
You have done a great job on this piece.

    Fluttering his wings
    Against hard metal bars
    Trying to break free
    From bruises and scars

What a heart breaking stanza. The need to fly free.

    Pushing harder for life
    Longing for fresh air
    Wings broken and tattered
Never to fly out of there

This brings tears to my eyes. What a sad picture this is.

    No nectar of hope
    To suck, to keep strong
    Took a final breath
    Struggled for too long

The feelings are so strong in the words you chose. The imagery is great.
    Love Cindy
