A walk amongst Nature

by Orchid Man   May 9, 2008

The golden sand lies painted as the restless sea creeps in, designing its foaming edges
Shells of all sizes and coloured stones lie dormant like a mystically crafted ocean bracelet
Fresh footprints designed by eager feet crumble as the sea reclaims its constant playground
Together we hold hands and marvel at the way Nature adds enjoyment to our daily ramblings.

Seagulls swoop and sing among rolling breakers offering our ears a melody of differing cries
A breeze blown from the west breathes softly on our faces leaving a pleasant scent of salt water
Ahead, rock pools invite us to search among their pristine waters for hidden signs of water life
I smile as your eyes look into a world alive with reflected glimpses of microscopic organisms.

You touch my arm and point to a passing Ocean Liner; an immense man-made wonder of steel
I note the longing in your eyes as you think of people living their dreams aboard a floating wonderland
Orchid Lady, I love you with deep feeling and passion; you are the only wonderland I shall ever desire
Then once more you squeeze my hand excitedly pointing to an arrangement of pretty wild flowers.

Your hand feels so warm and soft within my own - I know full well no flower will match your prettiness
Our accompanying soft breeze entices this gathering of flowers to dance so merrily for your enjoyment
A passing humpback whale lifts itself majestically into the air then with its life seeking surge over.......
....crashes back into the sea, undisturbed and replenished with the very air we breathe.

The forest pathway welcomes us to walk with nature; the trees themselves seem to bow their branches to us
A ruby-throated humming bird whirls its incredible wings seeking nectar and life-giving insects from among flora
Birds sing to us from hidden nesting places high among the differing vegetation - yet one thing enthrals me
Nature is incredibly beautiful; it displays much wonder, yet your beauty surpasses this panorama and is my joy.
