Hold Me in the Darkness

by BrokenREALiTy   May 10, 2008

Step upon the shattered pieces of a misfit heart;
The one that you took the time to personally break.
See the little specks of blood you left?
Such a pity--I really liked you,
But you went and left prints, and at such a crime.
Two years ago I would've begged forgiveness,
But today, I wish you dead.
A person such as you deserves a dreadful morrow,
For you held me in the darkness for too long.
You were my light, but only because I knew no other sun.
Now, look out the window: Don't tell me that I need you,
When the world has provided me my own radiance.
Chain me to your wretched soul, but I will escape;
The emotion I've been chanced to feel are not meant for you.
(They're meant for someone human)
And if I wished to sell my being to a devil of my choice,
I wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

**Don't look at me like that. This was random. The words flowed, and so I wrote and posted. I know, it's not deep or metaphorical and it doesn't hold (a lot of, anyhow) imagery. It was a release! But any suggestions to buff it up is quite welcome and deeply appreciated. Oh, and I also didn't know what category to put it in! So, help :)
