What Rain Meant To Me

by Cainer   May 10, 2008

I loved it when it stormed
Because storms meant rain
Rain meant freedom
Freedom meant everything

As a child i worked very hard
Harder then i think a child my age should have
But i didn't have a choice in those days
The rain relieved me from many burdens

It took away my bonds to slave labor
Granted me freedom from oppression
Saved me from having a total breakdown
Kept me one step above depression

I used to wake up in the morning praying for rain
Look out the window hoping for clouds
To me a dark and stormy day
Was such a beautiful day indeed

When the rain fell it sounded like music
It messaged my aching heart
Gave me peace. For when the rain fell
I was free to just sit in its sweet release
