An Island Alone

by Cainer   May 10, 2008

The tides that come ashore burn up my ears
All around me i do hear
The sounds they make breaking against the rocks
They surround me and contain my thoughts

I stand alone on this island surrounded by people
I hear them talking but i don't talk back
On this island i am all alone
Above the sounds of the tides my voice would not rise

There is no mystery
Its solitude at its finest
Able to see people around you
Yet unable to find a soul to talk to

That is the way i am today
In this solitude of mine
Surrounded by a billion lives
And yet left feeling so alone
