Lullabies of Yesterday

by Helene   May 10, 2008

Lullabies of yesterday,
Still playing in my mind,
Little hidden memories,
Too hard to leave behind.
And Someones singing our song,
So I remember you,
How we were dancing all night long,
Until the song was through.
Body to body,
Chin to chin,
Entangled in each other,
Swearing as their lips will meet,
That theyll never love another.
Hand in hand,
Uncertain smiles,
Losing sight in their lovers eyes,
Dont they know, the song will end,
And as it do theyll say goodbye.

Moments pass, feelings fade,
And when they do its just too late,
Hearts will break, rain will fall,
Eventually to drown us all.

Little bites of what we had,
That tasted just like paradise,
But with that bitter aftertaste,
That brought us to the last demise.
And as they dance I envy them,
Their innocence and virtue,
And back when I was that naive,
Was the moment where I loved you.
I miss that darling innocence,
Because it made me trust,
But as we dwell in decadence,
We lose it to our lust.
I wish I was that dumb again,
To dare to look you in the eye,
But I know now, the song will end,
And there will be goodbye.

Yours
