Not Good Enough ((who put all these mirrors here?)) Free Verse

by StandStill   May 11, 2008

Running,
heart pounding,
spinning on the balls of her feet
why?
screams out loud
but only hears it in her head
there's mirrors everywhere
no way to escape
no where to run
just her
her reflection
her pain
her shame
and a tear falls
just another reminder
of how
she's
not
good enough

the mirrors
they mock
laughing
teasing
grinning

her hand smacks
a sick mirrors
hating what she sees
and it shatters
blood down her wrists
nothing new
not here
not there
not anywhere
and in the pieces
she can still see
see herself
her pain
her shame
her tears
her ugliness
every reminder
of not good enough
