The Little Girl

by Michelle Fuller   May 11, 2008

Remember the little girl
Who always had her hair in curls?
She'd pose for the camera
In mommy's heels and pearls

And remember the laughter
Her smile would bring
As people would watch her
As she'd dance around and sing?

Well that blue-eyed bombshell
Is a big girl now
Her make-up's done right
The laughter faded somehow.

Now she sits in her room
Wondering what happened to her life
As she watches the blood
Slowly dripping from the knife.

Her parents have forgotten her
And always bring her down
They walk in her room one day
And find her on the ground

Maybe now they'll realize
That she's taking a stand
As they slowly read the letter
They removed from her hand.

"I'm sorry for all I put you through.
I'm sorry for all the lies.
All those times I made you worry
And made tears fall from your eyes.

But please tell my boyfriend
that i loved him from the start
And even though I'm gone now
He'll always have my heart.

Tell my best friend I was right
When I said I loved her to death
'Cause just look at me now
I'm cold and out of breath.

Tell everyone who cares
That I'm still here to stay
I'm that cool breeze they feel
On a warm summer day."

Who remembers that smile
And the pretty blonde hair
Now that its all gone.....
Who really did care?
