Smiles

After all the pain you've put me through,
And all the sh1t you've dealt,
I'll give you credit for just one thing,
The way with you I've felt.

In all the pictures and videos,
I was always completely fake,
You taught me how to smile,
And I knew what that would have had to take.

With you I could be myself,
I could act how I wanted with no care,
You smiled at me and for the first time,
I was truly happy, you were there

I never had to front,
or ever change just to impress,
You showered me with smiles,
and I believe you brought out my best.

Now you have completely turned into an ass,
but I haven't really changed,
I think you helped me meet myself,
and get everything arranged.

When someone smiles at me now,
I can actually smile back,
because for once I am actually happy,
it's now something that I don't lack.
