Silently

Tears are welled up inside me,
Trying to keep them from falling,
I put on a brave face,
So no one knows my pain

Holding onto everything I have left,
As I am unable to breathe at all,
My heart feels so heavy,
My life feels so empty

Closing away myself,
Trying to hide from this,
This torture that is never ending,
This pain that is so unbearable

My wounds will never be healed,
Open for all eternity,
My brokenness will always be,
Saved inside so no one sees

I feel as if I've never existed,
Nothing more than a broken dream,
Drifting away from this reality,
As the tears fall so very silently

    Wow, a really great poem! Every line was so heartfelt and had so much feeling in it. I loved your ending stanza:

    "I feel as if I've never existed,
    Nothing more than a broken dream,
    Drifting away from this reality,
    As the tears fall so very silently"

    Very strong words, which results in a good strong ending. You really made this well and I absolutely love it!
