Caress of Lies

by TheRevelation   May 12, 2008

Every touch seems to burn, red blotches form,
I scratch to ease the pain but it only deepens,
You need to stop touching me, leave me be,
Your eyes are glass filled lies.

Every kiss leaves me shouting to the wind,
Re-occurence of events leave me with questions,
Your kiss is not the same, nor the sound of your name,
Your hands are warmth I can't stand.

Every look leaves my upset stomach churning,
My reflection no longer shines in your glazed pupils,
Your gaze only aches, leaving me forever in wake,
Push me away, in the corner I shall stay.

Where the want is now lost, it just is not right,
Oh but honey, didn't our love put up hell of a fight?

Truly well written poem. Whole piece sounds like it's written straight from the heart and I like your choice of words a lot. You created interesting and captivating imagery from the beginning to the end, along with really good rhythm and flow. Enjoyable read. I can relate to this in a way which made it even more powerful for me.
    Keep up!

A well written and descriptive poem. You have made an excellent job of tying the whole piece together with Every touch, kiss and look. All actions that were once full of genuine love now hollow, unrequited!

    Well done
