A little light in this darkness

If you only took a little time to read what I write
You might be blessed with a little light

The stress is getting to me
I wish this, you could see

My will power is getting weak
It's your support I seek

I fight with myself day after day
That you would understand, is what I pray

My past keeps rising in the back of my mind
The curse I wish I did not have to find

I cry more tears than you have seen
Dwell on things that once had been

I need a man who will catch me when I fall
A shoulder, that without hesitation, my tears can fall

Some one to protect me in their embrace
Sheild me from the cruelty of the human race

Be strong and fight when times are tough
Stick by my side when I've had enough

I miss the way we used to be
We had been so happy and carefree

Now I'm pulling out my hair
Trying to make this easier to bare

Wishing on a star each and every night
Always the one that shines the most bright

I love you with all of my heart, it's true
For you, anything I would do

How I long to know that you too feel the same
Instead of upon me, always putting the blame
