Business of a vacant heart

by Sarah Ann   May 12, 2008

My weary heart stays cold and vacant
Canceling all invitation
Potential shoppers, business men
Have come to buy a share again
The stocks are low, one should know best
Steer clear this time, do not invest.
Know what foolish thinking brings!
They have a cure for many things,
Technology vastly improved
Replacing bad where good has moved
But what's to heal a shredded heart?
Contaminated, priceless art.

Bargaining shares will never mend,
The anguish. Put it to an end.
Close the doors and say no more,
Bankrupt on my prison's floor.
Grief is muffled, not eased by day
Time passing makes nothing okay.
I closed my world. I stood. I fall
Never opening, for once, at all

A failing production, can't even bloom
If it truly, deeply wanted to
Forgot all skill and lost all will,
On the pursuit of being content
In deferred business events,

To be any different.
