Some claim there is a reason for all.
I see no reason in your death.
No need to have seen your body scrawl
or witness your very last breath.

Some things just happen, shitty as can be.
Not all help people live their lives.
This experience didn't help me.
Sweet memories, your death, deprives.

I picture your face, how your body twitched.
Never did want to see a living thing die.
I wish you were injured; could have been stitched.
This should have never happened; your early goodbye.

You linger in my thoughts as the tears stream down.
Your jaw open, but no noise coming out.
Replaying the moment, I display my frown.
Just a baby, with a life you're without.

On your way to help, you died in my lap.
You stopped moving, I knew you were taken.
I wish so much you were taking a nap.
I stroked your fur, you wouldn't awaken.

Buried in the yard next to Shadow, the old dog.
The mother looking for you.
All I do is remember, my thoughts in a fog.
I just wish this wasn't true.

This was about a kitten that hit by our car when my brother pulled out.
I'm mildly traumatized by it. I never want to witness a living thing die
ever again, let alone in my lap.
