Defenseless (Lets Just Say, I'm Not Over You)

The darkness of night falls
on our side of the world...
to us its nothing new,
but it still awakens fear.
I smile as me senses
recognize you standing there.
You seem so along,
even when standing in a crowd.
Our eyes meet for a second,
and an invisible force acts
to join us for the night
even when we say we're over..
Or at least I feel this force,
leaving me to ponder...
Do you feel it to?
The question goes unanswered.
Yet another mystery abandoned
at the doorstep of my mind.
I take a deep breath,
and brace my fragile heart
for an answer that wont come.
As I approach you,
one step at a time,
I beg to no one specific,
"Please don't smile,
it'll leave me defenseless."

This was really written April 15, 08...after a party where I saw my ex-boy after a long time, and I couldnt help but remember I still love him...I was awful, but I wouldnt trade that day for anything in the world..except him (of course)
