Don't Leave

by lovehurts   May 13, 2008

Before you think of leaving,
When you're frail, when you're weak,
Life is full of bumpy rides,
And escape, it ain't so sleek.

I want you to know...

Yes, I have once tried it,
Pushing down with that blade,
A red road getaway,
Just as I had prayed.

But the wound healed over,
The scab I scratched away
This scare now remains,
And I see it every day.

It reminds me of my other side
The side that no one sees
The one who's hid away
The me who's got unease.

What kept me here, you ask?

As much as the pain hurt,
I knew leaving would hurt more,
Not hurt me, but my friends,
Leaving them, shutting the door.

It's you and others
Who kept me alive.
So I'm telling you now
You WILL survive.

as much as pain hurts,
it does go away
only a few years now
you'll be free, things will be OK.

But until then, my friend
I'm begging you to stay
It may seem like freedom,
But your colourful world will turn to Grey.
