Through night alone!!

by zenith66   May 13, 2008

I trod beneath a carpet black,
Whose fearsome clouds flew dark and chill,
My footsteps walked an icy track,
Behind me o'er the looming hills,

In front of me the dark was deep,
My tiring eyes could scarce presume,
The road ahead would dare to keep,
My soul In safety passing through,

The sheer declines and climbing vales.
Slid jagged trails beneath my feet,
The towering apex sharp like nails
Its lakes were nothing more than sleet,

The last of evenings glow was spent
And nothing chilled me more then this,
The dark trees leaned malevolent,
The guardian droves of nights abyss,

And out as far the eyes can see,
Windswept bluffs that rise and fall,
All draped in the embroidery,
Of winters moon who sees it all

This poem is filled with remarkable beauty and your descriptions took me to completely different world. I could clearly imagine every stanza as it unfolded. I like your choice of words and I think that you created good rhythm and flow from the beginning to the end. This is very beautiful nature piece, vivid and captivating. You just have to edit the poem because you have one copy/paste mistake in the last line- "Of winters moon who sees it all" but other than that this is truly great.

Keep up, I hope that you'll post some more of your poetry soon :)
