I glance

by emily   May 14, 2008

I glance across a crowded room
your veiled eyes
reveal nothing but
mystery.

A fluttering of the heart
and a dull throbbing ache
every time I realize that
for you and I
there is
no hope.

Dear god
Can you not recognize the devotion
and passion behind these tear bedewed lashes?

Gnawing pain from the lesion
you've carved into my heart

On my knees begging a golden Eros
for mercy.
"Save my soul from these licking flames! I beg you"

Silence is his echoing response.
Cursing me with dreams of his caresses
Every friendly smile sending me into shudders
This is love.
