Sweet Dreams

by StandStill   May 14, 2008

Sweet dreams burning through the air
can you taste them on your tongue?
see every genuine smile,
taste the genuine air within your lungs

But it seems the sweetest things
are always accompained by the bitter
simplicity of lie-filled reality
couldn't appear any clearer

The trouble with sweet dreams
that flap upon the wind
is that someday you have to wakeup
and recall every time you've sinned

Don't bother holding tighter,
sweet dreams still slip away,
silent radiance on a summer breeze
filters into deeper grey

But, lover, don't forget,
this life isn't day by day,
remember, it's breath by breath,
look forward to sweet dreams whilst you lay
