Passing Time

by MelissaH   May 27, 2004

Ambling with leaden steps,
along a meandering road,
It's along journey ahead and she bears a heavy load.
Not of gold, frankincense or Mir,
but of emotions heaped up inside of her.
Less emotions a while back she bore,
until on her sleeve her heart she wore.
Along the way,
what a price she did pay!,
her heart was broken with no delay.
He was kind and all that goes,
she let him in with no woes.
He tore her heart,
he set her apart, from the girl she was before,
she doesn't know herself any more.
He's changed too and easily makes her blue.
Boys like this,
there are few!
She still thinks hes neat, but the load will prove heavy on her feet.
As time passes,
she hopes to forget him,
over the mind he will skim.
But he'll be on the back of her mind as ticking past goes the time.
