She woke up one morning
And realized that she loved him
Realized that for once in her life
Things felt right
He was the only reason she held on to life
The only reason shed wake up in the morning
She told him she loved him
She gave him her heart and soul
She didnt see it coming
A new look in his eyes
He stepped on her heart and crushed it to pieces
He took her soul and threw it right back at her
He left her there
Crying, and dying
Alone and helpless
And walked away without a trace
Her world was gone
She carried on mindlessly
Haunted by the memory of someone
She thought she knew
She missed him
Missed being in his arms
Lying on his chest
She cried herself to sleep night, after night
Wondering what she ever did
To deserve this pain
She could hardly breathe
Only holding on
To the little string of hope left
Hope that someday hed love her too
Hope that someday it would all go away
I wanted to help her
Wanted to take the pain away
I watched the light drain right out of her eyes
It hurt me
To watch her carry on and try to be happy again
To watch how much every step she took without him
Caused her so much pain
It just took some time
For me to realize
That she was me
