Why Mum?

by XxJessicaxX   May 16, 2008

Every night it's always the same, do you ever think things will change.
You pick up that class and throw it down,
You go to far and don't know when to stop,
You hurt me so bad, you abuse us all and say it's always my fault, you really don't know when to stop,
You have no control over what you do,
You try to drink every problem away,
You drink to forget so you don't have to remember,
You smash everything up and hurt us all,
You don't care i know you don't.
You say you love me, but i really know that you don't,
Your pushing us away and shutting us out of your world,
I'm doing the same to you, because you get to close and hurt me anyway,
You don't understand what you are doing, i think when you do it will be to late.

    Line 3 "too"
Line 13 "you get too close"
    Last line "too"
You're muddling your to and too's up :) hehe.

    Anyway.
This poem is so touching, even though the story that lies behind it is awful. I love the use of contrast:
"You drink to forget so you don't have to remember"
    Very strong writing
