Statistics

by Indian Comma Bean   May 16, 2008

Just another statistic
On the government charts,
They don't care who you are,
They don't even know your name.

You meant this to be the end,
But for your name to go on,
As the one who took their life,
In the middle of December.

To get first page in the yearbook,
To have hundreds at your wake,
For people to wear ribbons,
And shed your unseen tears.

But you are selfish; Truth
hurts those who deny it,
Living under a shroud of falsity,
It's all about you day.

You want to make the news,
Though you'll never see it,
But you honestly don't see;
You merely killed everyone around you.

Because you're just another statistic
On the government charts,
They don't care who you are,
They don't even know your name.

But your family remembers...
