A Son

by H E Losey   May 16, 2008

Too long, too far
I've been away
A son's duties
I have spurned
I've grown and aged
For many a day
A man's lessons
I have learned
From boy to man
I found the way
But in my heart
Still something burned
Yes now I know
I daily pray
'Tis for my parents
That I so yearn

    I don't understand your ending.

    'Tis for my parents
    That I so yearn

    Is the FOR a mistake?
If with it, it would've sounded like...
It's for my parents that I so yearn.
    It doesn't make sense.

I've always thought of growing up.
But I've never thought about it from parents perspective.
    I probably will someday.

    Your format's kinda cool.
    It's simple.
