I promise not to run away, I promise not to give up,
The pain hits me full force, I don't know how much longer I can stand tough,
Everything you do and everything you say, falls on top of me,
The weight of every lie and every broken dream causes wounds the eye can't see,
I hate being in this position, so vulnerable and so scared,
It wouldn't be so hard if I was more prepared,
Despite all of the sorrow, the hard times and the pain,
I've stood by you all the way, loved you all the same,
But now it's getting harder, it's tough not to give in,
Not easy to stand strong, fighting a battle I can't win,
But I said I'd always be there when the going got rough,
So I'll try not to run away, I'll try not to give up.
