Eclipse (inspired by the Stephanie Meyer book)

by Juliet   May 18, 2008

Take a breath
Step away
Take a turn
To face my fate

Standing there
Smiling at me
He proceeds to ask
If I'm ready

Lets me walk
Gives me time
Allows me to decide
How I'll end my life

Will I die honorably?
In the presence
Of someone great?
Of someone like him?

A god-like creature
Who, with my luck,
Found me
According to fate

Changed my life
Showed me new things
A whole new world
That I could live in

I fell in love
With the idea of this
A new world of freedom
A new world of bliss

Then I heard of
The consequences I'd have
If I were to choose
This new path

A very painful death
Would be facing me
But then a surreal journey
To a new sea

Is the pain worth it?
Leaving behind my friends?
My family, my home,
Places where I've grown?

But this new life
It pulls me in
Into a vortex
That never ends

A deep black hole
In a beautiful sea
It looks so dangerous
Yet inviting

I must make a decision
He's ready to know
Will I go on?
Or will I pass?

This is a path
I don't have to take
He tries to convince me
That it is okay

He will still love me
If I don't go his way
It is my life
He'll let me live it

I step forward
Decision is made
Will he take me?
Or will he walk away?
